Automatic Subtitles
Transcribe audio or video files, process YouTube links, and translate subtitle files with AI while preserving subtitle timing. Choose your transcription model, target language, translation provider, and output format. API keys are kept in this browser and are only sent with your translation request.
Manual
OpenAI setup guide
- Sign in to the OpenAI Platform.
- Open Billing, add a payment method, and buy prepaid credits. OpenAI currently requires prepaid credits for new API accounts, with a minimum purchase of $5.
- Check Auto Recharge before confirming your first credit purchase. Turn it off if you do not want automatic top-ups, or set a monthly recharge limit.
- Go to API keys and click Create new secret key. Give it a clear name, such as Automatic Subtitles.
- Copy the key immediately. OpenAI only shows the full secret key once. If you lose it, create a new key and replace the old one in the app.
- In Automatic Subtitles, choose OpenAI as the translation provider, paste the key into AI API key, choose your target language, and start the transcription or translation.
Keep your API key private. Do not send it by email, chat, or screenshots. The app saves it only in this browser and uses it only when you run an OpenAI translation request.

- In Automatic Subtitles, choose AI Prime Tech Claude as the translation provider, paste the key into AI API key, and choose Haiku 4.5 or Sonnet 4.6.
- Start with Haiku 4.5 for the fastest and cheapest translations. Use Sonnet 4.6 for harder text.
